Grillbots LLC (“Grillbot,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the Grillbot mobile application (the “App”), which connects with compatible Grillbot hardware products, including the Grillbot PRO and Smart Apron.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the App, connect compatible devices, or otherwise interact with us through the App.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. No Account Required

The Grillbot App does not require users to create an account or log in with a username and password to use its core features.

2. Information We Collect

A. Device and App Information

When you use the App, we may automatically collect certain technical information, such as:

  • mobile device model
  • operating system and version

  • device identifiers

C. Permissions-Based Information

Depending on your device, operating system version, and the App features you use, the App may request access to:

  • Bluetooth / Nearby Devices
  • location permissions, where required by Android for Bluetooth scanning
  • microphone access, if needed for certain Smart Apron features
  • phone or call-related permissions, if needed to support Smart Apron call functionality

D. Customer Support Information

If you contact us for support, we may collect:

  • email address
  • messages, attachments, screenshots, or other information you choose to provide

3. How We Use Information

We may use the information we collect to:

  • provide access to the App and its features
  • connect, pair, and communicate with compatible Grillbot hardware
  • allow users to control Grillbot PRO functions, including starting the device, deploying degreaser, selecting cleaning cycles, and monitoring scrubbing progress
  • support Smart Apron functions, including Bluetooth connectivity, speaker-related features, call-related features, and thermometer-related features
  • provide customer support and respond to inquiries
  • maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the App and connected products
  • monitor performance, security, and stability
  • detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, or technical issues
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information in the following circumstances:

A. Service Providers

We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate the App and our business, such as providers for:

  • cloud hosting
  • analytics
  • crash reporting
  • customer support
  • infrastructure and security

These service providers may process information on our behalf only as needed to provide services to us.

B. Legal Compliance and Protection

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or if we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to:

5. Bluetooth, Location, Microphone, and Call Permissions

The App may request certain permissions to support core features.

Bluetooth / Nearby Devices

We use Bluetooth permissions to discover, pair with, and communicate with compatible Grillbot products, including the Grillbot PRO and Smart Apron.

Location

On some Android devices or Android versions, location permission may be required to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. We do not use location permission to track your precise location for advertising or location profiling.

Microphone and Call-Related Permissions

If you use Smart Apron call-related features, the App may request microphone and/or phone-related permissions as needed to enable those features. We do not record phone calls unless explicitly disclosed elsewhere and required for a specific feature you choose to use.

6. Analytics and Diagnostics

We may collect analytics, diagnostic information, and crash data to understand App performance, fix bugs, improve stability, and enhance the user experience.

If the App does not use analytics or crash-reporting tools, this section should be revised or removed to match actual app behavior.

7. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the App and related services
  • support connected device functionality
  • provide customer support
  • comply with legal obligations
  • resolve disputes
  • enforce agreements

When information is no longer needed, we will delete it or de-identify it, subject to applicable legal, technical, and operational requirements.

8. Your Choices

You may choose not to grant certain permissions, but some App features may not function properly without them.

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at customerservice@grillbots.com so we can review and address the matter.

11. International Data Transfers

If you use the App outside of [Country], your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your own, where data protection laws may differ.
